Following public consultations about healthcare services across Pembrokeshire which produced no consensus about the provision of services in the Tenby, Saundersfoot and Narberth area, a working group was set up to look into all the options.
The group identified a preferred option for the future pattern of healthcare in the area and work is ongoing in relation to this.
In the immediate future the Pembrokeshire and Derwen NHS Trust has identified that essential maintenance must be carried out on Tenby Cottage Hospital to ensure that it continues to function safely for both patients and staff.
Therefore people will notice over the next few weeks that building work will be in progress including the removal of old containers by cranage.
It is hoped the work will not inconvenience the smooth running of services at the hospital.
