Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Mrs. Tish Rossiter, has called for CCTV to be an essential aspect of the town's new hospital at Butts Field.
"I hope that provision has been set for a CCTV system to be installed around the outside area of the new hospital, as we don't want a similar scenario as to what happened at the new lifeboat station," she told fellow members at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council.
Clr. Mike Evans said that Pembrokeshire County Council would consider a joint funding scheme with the hospital for a CCTV system and that a further step could be taken to see if the town council's budget would allow them to also aid the hospital and coach park's security.
"Any extra security in that area would be much welcomed," added Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas.
