Plaid Cymru - the Party of Wales have made clear their view that the creeping privatisation of the NHS under Tory/New Labour governments should be halted and even reversed. "The new Cottage Hospital in Tenby offers a real opportunity to make a clear statement about the future and role of the NHS," said John Dixon, the party's candidate for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire. "The community fought hard to get this hospital and it is vital that it is properly funded from the outset. As things stand, the NHS Trust is proposing to provide the shell,, whilst the beds are provided by the private sector - we in Plaid Cymru believe that the NHS should be providing these beds. "I call on the Trust, even at this late stage, to reverse this decision, and to prevent the privatisation of our services."
