Tenby United 18 pts.
Tumble 18
It was a battle of the boot at Tenby's Heywood Lane ground for this Division Three West fixture, as kicks galore were converted and missed for both the hosts and opponents Tumble.
The Seasiders opened the scoring after three minutes when Jimmy Davies kicked a penalty from 30 metres, only to see Tumble fullback Steve Hewitt level up with a penalty of his own from 40 metres two minutes later.
The home side's lively backs looked sharper than their opponents and when they drove into Tumble's 22 after 12 minutes they were awarded a penalty which Davies converted.
From the restart, The Magpies levelled the scores immediately when Hewitt converted a penalty from 45 metres.
With the wet conditions playing a part, it was Tenby who were looking the more inventive, but just before the interval, Hewitt converted his third successful penalty to give the away side a 9-6 lead at the break.
The second half saw Tumble make some costly errors, and they were punished for one when an attempted cross-kick to the corner was gathered on Tenby's 10-metre line and wing Simon Stanford ran the ball in for a try, which Davies converted.
Hewitt then gave the visitors the edge with three successive penalties, but failed to put his side out of sight with two missed kicks.
The home side were reduced to 14 men in the final few minutes when they were deemed to have killed the ball with Tumble pressing, but in trying to increase their lead, a wayward chip from The Magpies was gathered by second row Luke Dedman who ran in from 50 metres to score in the corner to make it 18-18.
Tenby could not snatch the win, though, with Davies pushing the conversion wide.
