Last weekend saw the Juniors competing for the Duffy Cup. The cup being a gross competition, saw a good turnout, with several players hoping for a chance of securing the first trophy of the season.
Another good performance again saw Sam Morgan past a below handicap score, while a nett 63 from David Schooling showed his potential, scoring 18 gross off 18 handicap.
Winner of the cup, however, was Holly Watkins, scoring a gross 76 against an SSS of 73, effectively three over par. Holly who retains the cup she won last year, also has a reduction in handicap of .8, bringing her handicap down to 6.3. An excellent performance!
Second position went to Dan Cope. He actually had a lower gross score of 75, but as this was six over SSS for the men's card, it meant that Dan had to settle for runners-up spot. No doubt Dan will pick up at least one trophy over the coming season with the scores he is posting. Third spot went to Simon Hilling with a gross 81.
