Last week, a hockey team from Templeton School travelled to Carmarthen Leisure Centre for the Carmarthenshire Zone Final of the 'Activate' Welsh Primary Schools Hockey Competition. Teams from Brynconin, Brynaman, Felinfoel, Natagaredig, Johnstown and Dewi Sant schools joined them in a day of hockey organised by Rae Ellis (hockey development officer for Carmarthenshire). Seven teams competed on the day for a place in the final, which is to be held in Newtown at the end of the month. Templeton won five out of their six games, drawing their game with Brynconin 1-1. This meant that once again they were undefeated and had booked their place in the finals to be held at the Maldwyn Leisure Centre in Newtown on Friday, June 29. This is a great achievement for such a small school as it is the second time in three years that a team from Templeton has made the Welsh Finals. If there is anyone who would like to sponsor the team in their efforts, could you please contact Mr. Perkins at Templeton School. Many thanks to all the parents and grandparents who helped to transport the children to Carmarthen and for supporting them throughout a very busy day.
