The Williams Roofing Tenby and District Darts League Finals Night, held at Tenby and District Ex- Servicemen's Club on Friday, produced a night of top quality darts, with all games keenly contested. Three-a-side final: First game on stage was the Pat Dart Three-a-Side final played over three legs of 601. It featured Diggers Bar v Swanlake and after a closely contested game it was the Jameston side who had a slight edge, winning 2-0. Tenby House Masters Cup: 3x501, Jim Williams (Swanlake) v Rudi Tuz (Jeffreyston). This was another evenly matched game, with Jim hitting his doubles to win 2-0. J. Badham Captains Cup: Double to start, 5x501. Ray Muskett (Swanlake) v Brian Cullen (RAOB). This was an exciting and keenly contested final won by Ray 3-1. A. James Cup: 7x501, Jim Williams (Swanlake) v Steve Hughes (Swanlake). This was a close contest, with Jim suffering with double trouble, allowing Steve to win 4-0. Dilwater Pairs Cup: S. Hughes and Jas Williams (Swanlake) v B. Cullen and D. Marklew (RAOB). A closely contested final with high scoring darts by both pairs, with the Swanlake winning 4-2. The Mal Thomas Singles Cup: The blue riband event of Finals Night, over seven legs of 501, featuring Jim Williams (Swanlake) against Phil John (Diggers Bar). This was the best final of the night, keenly contested, with high scoring darts. It went down to the seventh and final leg to decide the title, with a missed double by Phil allowing Jim to step in and hit his double to clinch the cup 4-3. All trophies were presented after each final by members of the committee. MC for the night was Mr. Chris Birch, Jeffreyston, who did a first class job, helped by a team of volunteer markers. Raffle prizes were donated by Digger, D. Collier, DSS Club, R. Muskett and J. Williams, and the raffle was run by Liz Williams, Swanlake - many thanks.
