A family-run village inn, dating from the 17th Century and set in the pretty village of St. Florence, has been sold. The Parsonage Farm Inn was sold on behalf of Mr. Paul Greenwood, who had owned the business for a number of years and has now emigrated to Spain. Private buyers have purchased the inn for an undisclosed figure, from an asking price of £800,000 freehold. The Parsonage Farm Inn is a Grade II listed Georgian property which until the early 1930s was the 'Glebe Farm' of this ancient Norman community and farmed by the Rector of St. Florence. A spokesman for selling agents Christie and Co commented: "This traditional village inn has a loyal local following The business is ideally placed to benefit from the many tourists visiting the area and from May to September transforms into a thriving destination business with fully booked accommodation and pre-booked food sales. "The sale of the Parsonage Farm Inn offered the new purchasers a great opportunity to acquire an established village inn with the opportunity to increase turnover from the recently constructed holiday houses. We wish them every success with their new venture."
