THROUGH a chance conversation, the National Trust has been led to understand that the Tudor Merchant's House on Tenby's Quay Hill was used for evacuees during the war. This may be fact, or it may be fiction, but it has led to the idea of finding out about the people who have lived in this amazing house over the years and documenting their stories.

If anyone has any photographs, information or stories they have heard from families and friends, the staff at the house would like to know.

It doesn't matter how small or insignificant it seems to you, anything that helps to piece together a fuller picture is gratefully received. If the house did have evacuees, it would be wonderful to find one of them to recount the tale of living in Tenby. If not, there are bound to be other fascinating personal histories to find out about.

If you can help, please call Alyson Bush on (01834) 842279, or call in and visit the house any day and share your thoughts with the team on site.
