Services are held on Sunday evenings at 6 pm in the Avenue Centre, Tenby. Visit http://www.hesed.co.uk">www.hesed.co.uk for more information or telephone the pastor, Rev. Peter Richmond, on 01646 681805.

Last Sunday the pastor spoke about Felix, a Roman governor who tried the Apostle Paul on the spurious charges brought by the Jewish leaders of the day.

Although he could tell from the evidence that Paul was innocent, his desire to appease the Jews caused him to adjourn, and Paul was left in prison for two years until Felix was replaced.

In those early days Christianity was known as 'The Way' and Felix, a man who had risen to a leadership position from the humblest of beginnings as a slave, was well acquainted with 'The Way.' Felix had two years over which to hear the Gospel from Paul and was even afraid when his prisoner started talking about righteousness.

"It is not enough to know the facts, or even make an emotional response," said Peter. He quoted a verse in 2 Corinthians: "I tell you, now is the time of God's favour, now is the day of salvation," and the words of Philip Yancey: "Faith means trusting in advance what will make sense only in reverse."
