The Jewish Passover festival week, which is also significant to Christians, included last Sunday, so in the service the Pastor of Hesed, Rev. Peter Richmond, retold the Passover story using extracts from the book of Exodus. It is unusual to hear large portions of the Bible read continuously and the interesting account of how the God of Israel humbled the Pharaoh of Egypt with a series of well-chosen plagues came to life as it was being read. To escape the final plague - the death of the first- born - the Hebrews were instructed to sacrifice a lamb and daub the blood on their door lintels. The Destroyer would pass by the houses that had the 'covering' of lamb's blood in this way. John the Baptist referred to his cousin, Jesus as the 'Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.' The next service is on Sunday at 4.15 pm in Carringtons Restaurant, below the Atlantic Hotel on Tenby's Esplanade. Visit http://www.hesed.co.uk">www.hesed.co.uk for more information.
