A satisfying Christmas meal for the fellowship and friends at Carringtons Restaurant set the scene for an afternoon carol service on Sunday, December 23.
It was a busy day for the pastor and music team, who also conducted two well attended carol services at Bethel Baptist Church, Pembroke Dock.
When it was time to give the message, Rev. Peter Richmond used the title 'It's Peace, God, but not as we know it' to talk about how God's peace depends on two things: righteousness and justice. The reason why the world doesn't know political peace is because governments and leaders do not make justice a priority. And personal peace is not dependent on circumstances, but on the knowledge of a forgiven past and being right with God.
Requests for carols came thick and fast during the service. Prayers were said for Mick, who was still in hospital, and special 2008 calendars were made available, which show Hesed's contact in Pakistan, Sohail, on a tour of the prisons.
On Christmas Day the fellowship joined Emmanuel Gospel Church, Manorbier, for a seasonal celebration.
There were no services last Sunday. They recommence this weekend. Visit the website, http://www.hesed.co.uk">www.hesed.co.uk for more information.
