Do you ever pray but feel your prayers are not being heard? On Sunday afternoon, the pastor, Rev. Peter Richmond, preached from Daniel 10 a message of encouragement to keep on praying in earnest. After much praying and fasting, Daniel finally had a breakthrough. In fact, he experienced a vision of heavenly glory as a secret of the spiritual world was revealed. He was told that his prayers had been heard instantly, but their fulfilment had been delayed by the 'Prince of Persia', a term understood to refer to a demon. Peter explained that there is a war being waged in heaven, and that is why answers do not always come straight away. But God always hears prayers and this passage also suggests that the prayers of just one man can affect the destiny of a whole country, kingdom or empire. Reference was made to Elisha and his servant who looked as if they were about to be captured by an army, but when Elisha prayed that his servant's eyes would be opened, he saw what Elisha already could see - a host of heavenly warriors and chariots around them. Songs and hymns included 'Who is on the Lord's side', 'How lovely on the mountains', 'Shout for joy and sing', 'Behold the Lord upon his throne' and 'He that is in us is greater.' The service included a time of prayer and ended with refreshments. Thanks are extended to Mark and the staff at Carringtons Restaurant for making the fellowship welcome each week. Carringtons is situated below the Atlantic Hotel on Tenby's Esplanade. All are welcome this Sunday at 4.15 pm.
