Peter Richmond, pastor of Hesed Christian Fellowship, quoted Henry Drummond, a scientist and Christian in Glasgow at the turn of previous century, who said: "Gentlemen I beseech you to seek the Kingdom of God first or not at all. I promise you a miserable time if you seek it second." The Israelites under King Solomon were warned that if they did not do God's will it could result in exile, but the promise in 2 Chronicles was that if the scattered people then sought the Lord, he would not abandon or destroy them.
