On Sunday afternoon, the fellowship met in Carringtons Restaurant, below the Atlantic Hotel on Tenby's Esplanade.
Bread was the subject of a talk by the pastor, Rev. Peter Richmond. He examined what Jesus meant when he said, "I am the Bread of Life."
Just as bread comes in many varieties and can be enriched with nuts or fruit, so the life that Jesus came to bring is described as "abundant."
God had fed the Israelites manna in the wilderness; it was like bread from heaven. But this bread spoiled quickly. If Jesus is the Bread of Life, it is the sort that never spoils. Sadly too many Christians settle into working for 'dead bread' rather than living for eternity.
Peter recalling the words of Jesus: "he who comes to me will never go hungry." The service ended with singing 'Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah' ("Bread of heaven, feed me now and evermore...").
Services take place each Sunday in Carringtons Restaurant. Telephone 01646 681805 for details.
