There was a delightful family atmosphere in Carringtons on Sunday afternoon when regulars at Hesed were joined by friends old and new.
Everyone, it seemed, had something to say about the blessings of God, and prayers were said by most of the 13 who were there.
The service went into 'extra time' after all the sharing, and the pastor, Rev. Peter Richmond, introduced his theme for the next few weeks: "Where now is the God of Elijah?"
These words were spoken by his friend, the prophet Elisha, after he had seen Elijah being taken up to heaven in a fiery chariot. He had asked for a double portion of Elijah's spirit, and his question was answered with a confirmation: he struck the River Jordan with Elijah's cloak and it parted, allowing him to cross on dry land.
Peter observed that while Elijah had performed 14 miracles; Elisha managed 28, but the book of James makes it clear that they were just ordinary people. If you are an ordinary person, you will be welcomed by Hesed Fellowship, who meet in the week for prayer and Bible study and each Sunday at 4.15 pm in Carringtons Restaurant, The Atlantic Hotel, Tenby.
