'Carols at Carringtons' takes place at 4.15 pm this Sunday. Everyone is welcome at Carringtons Restaurant, the Atlantic Hotel, to join the fellowship for a seasonal celebration in songs and readings. In this week's Bible study and prayer meeting, the fellowship focussed on the need to look after widows. Some sound advice on grief counselling was given, and a short video was shown about a Christian organisation that is helping poor widows in east European countries. It was agreed to give a small donation to the Slavic Gospel Association to support this work. Bread and wine was shared and one person was annointed with oil as friends gathered round to pray for healing. Last Sunday's service focussed on the greatness of Jesus, the fulness of God in the frailty of a man. Recently, Hesed's musicians were invited to Bethel Baptist Church, Pembroke Dock, to help with a talk given by Geoff and Jenny Marshall, of the Hebrew Scriptures Society. The organisation is responsible for producing and distributing the Old and New Testaments to the Jewish people. Geoff Marshall reported that the Jews, who are used to being misrepresented and hated by the rest of the world, are moved by the kindness of these Christians.
