Pembrokeshire Consumer Support Network has produced a free bilingual Consumer Advice Support Pack. The new pack aims to inform consumers on what to look for when buying goods and services, along with suggestions on what to do when things go wrong. The Consumer Support Network is made up of Pembrokeshire County Council's trading standards team, Age Concern and the Haverfordwest and Pembroke Dock Citizen Advice Bureaux. The pack contains helpful information relating to consumer purchases, home shopping, package holidays etc and includes a list of useful contacts for consumer issues. It also has examples of draft letters that consumers can use when making complaints about things that have gone wrong. Local CSN co-ordinator Nigel Watts said: "It is important that consumers know their rights when buying goods and services. People need to be aware that they can get the advice and assistance they need. "We hope this booklet will educate consumers who otherwise would not have access to such information and help them to solve complaints on their own initiative without having to resort to outside help." Copies of the booklet are available from all members of the network and also at the council's customer service centres, libraries and Tourist Information Centres. Those consumers who want to talk to someone about a consumer problem can access free advice by telephoning the Consumer Direct helpline on 0845 04 05 06 (calls charged at local rates).
