Paul Sartori Foundation fund-raisers were out in force on Saturday to capitalise on the launch of the new, bigger than ever, Argos catalogue in Haverfordwest. The fund-raisers were pleased to welcome Preseli Pembrokeshire Member of Parliament, Mr. Stephen Crabb, who is lending his support and encouragement for vital funds to be raised for Hospice Care. The Saturday event marked the start of a two-year partnership between Argos and Paul Sartori Foundation to raise funds and awareness about the Hospice Care offered by Paul Sartori Foundation in Pembrokeshire. The official launch will take place during September when Mr. Stephen Crabb has agreed to give his support once more. 'Helping Hospices, Helping Families' is the theme for the partnership over 2005-2007 and staff in Argos will be working hard to raise as much money as possible. "We are really looking forward to raising funds and awareness about our local Hospice service, the Paul Sartori Foundation. Many of our staff have been touched by the work of the Paul Sartori nurses and are keen to give something back to this wonderful charity," said store manager and charity champion, Mary Owen. "We are so pleased to have the support of the Argos staff. I organise the care for terminally ill patients and we try to give help to the whole family, I know what a huge difference the money raised can make to a family," said Paul Sartori senior nurse, Chris Paterson. Paul Sartori Foundation provides care to around 400 patients a year. A Hospice at Home service has been offered since 1982 and Hospice care in an in- patient unit in Sceleddau was set up in October 2002. " We depend heavily upon the goodwill of the people of Pembrokeshire to ensure that our Hospice continues with its good work. It means a great deal to our patients to know that the staff of Argos are supporting us in this way. We are so pleased that Mr. Stephen Crabb has agreed to support the work of our hospice, it is very reassuring to have our local MP standing beside us. We are looking forward to a very fruitful two years with Argos," said Lorna Johns, hospice director.
