The committee of the West Wales Badger Group wish to thank members of the general public for their support and donations recently when they held their Summer Fayre in Saundersfoot. This is most appreciated.
We are working very hard at the moment to feed as many badgers as we can near to their setts, because, although we have had some rain, it is not enough to soak the ground to help the badgers dig for their food of earthworms and suchlike. Also, many streams have dried up so the animals cannot get water.
Many badgers are being killed on the roads because they are travelling away from their natural feeding grounds to try to get some food and water; also we are finding many dead badgers near to their setts who have starved to death.
