Pembroke’s Roots to Recovery members have been busy building herb boxes for everyone to enjoy.

On Thursday, the group set about building herb boxes to be placed in the picnic and BBQ area down on the Commons in Pembroke - so everybody will be welcome to help themselves to a nice bit of Rosemary, Oregano and more for their cooking!

“We all had our bits to do and worked as a team to make a great start! Everything measured and cut to size, we have some left to screw together, line and fill with compost before planting them up and that’ll be another job ticked off our list around the town,” said a spokesperson for the group.

Roots to Recovery is a people-led project, which is all about the restorative powers of Pembrokeshire’s amazing outdoors and especially its National Park.

The initiative is delivered in partnership by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority and Mind Pembrokeshire and supported through the National Lottery Community Fund.

A programme of activities is available from ‘hubs’ at the Mind Pembrokeshire Resource Centre in Haverfordwest and the Hafal Resource Centre in Tenby.

Activities are designed to be accessible, fun and sometimes relaxing, with the opportunity to learn new skills and meet new friends.
