On November 5 and 12, the New Hedges Short Mat Bowls Club played at home against Hundleton and Llanddewi Velfrey, respectively.
The singles players for these matches were David, then Tony, and both played exceedingly well, so inspiring the other team members. In the first match the pairs lost and the threes won, these results being reversed in the second match. In both matches the fours had nail-biting games.
The outcome of these very enjoyable events was a loss by one point against Hundleton, the score being 24-25, and a decisive win against Llanddewi Velfrey 32-17.
Everyone is now looking forward to the next match, an away one with St. Johns in Pembroke Dock, on Thursday, November 22; then on December 6 the Christmas lunch will held at Redberth Lodge (if you haven't yet paid, please contact treasurer Pat immediately!).
There is no hibernation for these hedgehogs who keep going on every available Tuesday and Friday throughout the year.
If you fancy trying your hand, then you can be sure of a very warm welcome. (If you don't have flat, unridged shoes or carpet slippers, then bring an extra pair of socks to keep your feet warm! The club has bowls for you to use).
