Heatherton juniors entertained Rhondda juniors in a return fixture on Sunday afternoon. The matches where played on a round robin basis, with all the teams playing each other over five ends.
The team of Jack Wright, Gemma Amos and Joe Dennis got off to a good start, winning their first match seven shots to two. They then moved rinks and again got off to a good start, winning the first two ends, but then struggled and eventually lost six shots to four. The final game saw them come from behind to just lose by one, five to four. A good performance against some very good sides.
Heatherton's other triples was a very young side of Ben Cloake, Cam White and skipped by his sister Ysie. They got off to a flyer, scoring two ends of six shots to win the first game 15 shots to one - and this against a very good side. The second game saw them give a four on the first end, but with all three playing good drawing bowls, they came back to win five shots to four.
The final game was another close match that saw them just hold on to win, again by five shots to four.
These three wins saw the triples of Ben, Cam and skipped by Ysie win the overall match - an outstanding performance.
Well done to all the Heatherton bowlers who took part.
