Three of Heatherton IBC's juniors put up brave contests in the Welsh Under 16s singles at Swansea on Sunday.
In the first round, Heatherton's Ysie White beat Aron O'Sullivan, one of Llanelli's most experienced juniors, while Gemma Amos chalked up success against Port Talbot's Kiera Morgan. Unfortunately, Adam Hensman lost to Mathew Stephens, who was playing on his home carpet.
In the second round, Ysie bowed out to Scott Loosemore (Ogwr's club champion and the favourite for West Wales), while Gemma was defeated by Andy Trick, another Swansea IBC junior.
Ysie, Gemma and Adam all had enjoyed the day and liked the new stadium. They wish all those who qualified for the next round every success.
Tomorrow (Saturday), the juniors go to Ogwr to play in the pairs tournament.
The pairs representing Heatherton are Liam Price and Ysie White, Joe Dennis and Gemma Amos, Luke Rees and Adam Hensman.
