Heatherton played Pembroke Indoor Bowling Club at Milford last Saturday. Heatherton's three rinks bowling in the morning session all bowled really well to finish five shots ahead overall. A very good result and we were two rinks up to collect four points as well.

Rink results were as follows:

J. Turley, I. Evans, M. Evans, R. Brabon 18; Les Davies 14.

H. Davies, K. Davies, J. Moffat, T. Howells 22; D. Phillips 16.

A. Jarvis, M. Gouldingay, T. Harris, R. Jones 16; B. Dowling 21.

The afternoon rinks did very well, winning one (two points) and losing out on the other two, scores being:

R. Pring, G. Hughes, D. K. Thomas, J. Roberts 26; R. Evans 21.

E. Dezelle, T. Shaw, C. Davies, S. Rees 15; P. Collins 19.

P. Gray, J. Hammond, J. Evans, D. Burns 12; R. Thomas 22.

What a close match, which could have gone either way. In the end, however, it was Pembroke who ran out winners by four shots. Well done both teams on an excellent game of bowls.

Final score: Heatherton 109 (6pts) Pembroke 113 (16).

UNDER 16 WELSH JUNIOR SINGLES

Played at Bridgend Bowls Centre, Heatherton was represented by 12-year-old Mathew Dick, who played in the first round against Jason Keneficpt, a 15-year-old Welsh Junior bowler and very experienced at this level. Mathew played very well and gave a very good performance, but lost 18-10.

Mathew's performance impressed Mr. Mostyn Lewis, who is responsible for coaching and selecting the Welsh Juniors. He has invited young Mathew to join the Junior Welsh squad in the new year.

All members at Heatherton were very happy at Mathew's success, and we wish him all the best next year. It is always nice to see someone so young doing well in bowling and good luck Mathew, you deserve it.

Mr. Lewis Hilling, chairman of Heatherton IBC, has asked me, on behalf of the committee, to wish all members a happy Christmas, and best wishes for the new year.

Our next fixture will be at Heatherton on January 3 against Swansea.
