What a wonderful result on Saturday for Heatherton to beat Pembroke (Meads) at Heatherton Sports Park by 46 shots.

The morning three rinks all bowled well, winning two and losing one, but only by one shot. They did very well and had a 20-shot advantage, which was a tremendous boost for the following three rinks playing in the afternoon session.

The three morning rinks were:

T. Harris, M. Evans, M. Goldingay, D. Robb - won 24-14.

J. Short, P. Lewis, C. Davies, J. Roberts - won 24-13.

J. Turley, A. Jarvis, G. Hughes, J. Evans - lost 16-17.

In the afternoon session all three rinks again bowled really well. All won and increased the overall shots advantage to 46. Heatherton had 20 points out of a possible 22 and it was their first win this season.

The afternoon rinks were:

R. Brabon, I. Evans, D. K. Thomas, T. Howells - won 26-19.

E. Dezelle, H. Evans, K. Davies, S. Rees - won 25-15.

H. Davies, T. Shaw, J. Lloyd, R. Jones - won 27-18.

Captain Ronnie Brabon, afterwards, was full of praise and said the team bowled well.

"We had to make changes due to some people dropping out and I was very happy that it all turned out so well - what a day for us," he remarked.

All members wish Mr. John Moffat a speedy recovery after an accident at home, which meant he unable to play on Saturday.

Next match is on November 1, away to Pontardawe.
