Heatherton Indoor Bowls Club members Gemma Amos and Ysie White were on international duty recently when they represented Wales in the Under 25 Home Internationals Series.
The series was held on 'home turf' at Cynon Valley IBC in Mountain Ash.
Gemma gained her first indoor cap when she led for former Scottish international Donna Young, of Cynon Valley, while Ysie, who represented Wales for the first time last year, was third to World Bowls gold medallist Hannah Smith, of Carmarthen.
Both rinks recorded two wins and one defeat as Wales came third overall.
The series was won by England, with Scotland second and Ireland claiming the wooden spoon.
Gemma also has a big weekend coming up as she plays in the semi-final - and fingers crossed - final of the Welsh Under 25 singles at Earlswood IBC. Good luck Gemma, we hope you bring the silverware home.
There was also more good news for Ysie this week when she heard she had been selected for the Welsh Indoor Young Bowlers Association international squad to play Scotland on Saturday and Sunday, April 3 and 4, at Cynon Valley IBC. Joe Dennis from Saundersfoot has been chosen as non-travelling reserve.
