A St Florence mum has issued a heartfelt plea for people to pay their last respects to a World War II paratrooper from Pembrokeshire who passed away last week.
The funeral of ninety-eight-year-old widower Tommy Barrett, of Haverfordwest, will take place on Thursday (February 16) at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth, at 3.15 om.
Mum Jess Wharton who along with her partner Matt and a friend once helped raise money for Tommy to have a new boiled fitted at his home, has made the appeal for people to attend the ex-serviceman’s funeral.
“We want to give Tommy the best possible send off, one he thoroughly deserves for the amazing man he was,” she explained.
“He does not have much family so If anyone would like to attend to pay their respects please do so.
“Also if any ex service men and woman could attend too that would be fantastic,” she added.
