Visitors to Henry's Coffee Shop in Pembroke's Main Street can be confident that their menu lives up to the high standards required by the Welsh Heartbeat Award.

The prestigious award is only offered to premises with high standards in food hygiene, which provides a 'no smoking' eating environment, and a menu based on healthy eating.

The chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council, Clr. Mickey Folland, presented the award to Andrew and Jackie Thomas, the owners of Henry's.

Clr. Folland congratulated the coffee shop on their achievement, adding: "It is wonderful that Henry's has been recognised for its high standards in contributing towards a healthier Wales."

Hannah Thombs, health improvement facilitator for Pembrokeshire County Council, said: "There is increasing evidence that many illnesses such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes can be prevented and people are becoming more health conscious as a result.

"We welcome the fact that more and more local eating establishments are making it easier for people to choose healthier and enjoyable foods."
