Staff at Yorkshire Building Society's Tenby branch in Tudor Square are inviting existing customers and members of the public to 'have a heart' this Christmas by joining them for a cup of tea and a mince pie to raise money for the BHF.

The branch is holding a 'Heart-Tea Party' today (Friday) to raise funds for the society's 'Heart to Heart' Appeal.

Staff will be serving mince pies and warm drinks to all those calling in out of the cold and rain and holding a number of festive fun activities, including a 'cream tea' raffle to win some delicious teas and scones.

Those who call into the branch to join in the fun will also have the opportunity to purchase cuddly Christmas tree decorations and reindeer food for Santa's little helpers created especially for the appeal.

All proceeds from the 'Heart-Tea Party' will be matched pound for pound by the society's charitable foundation - so a £1 donation automatically becomes a £2 donation!

Sian Rees, manager of the society's branch, said: "As part of a building society, we focus on traditional values such as supporting charities and good causes throughout the UK. Our 'Heart to Heart' appeal is a chance for us to continue to show support for the communities where our members and staff live and work.

"We're hoping our existing customers and members of the public will have a heart and call into the branch today (Friday) to support our appeal. This is a great chance for us to spread some Christmas cheer and everyone is guaranteed a warm welcome at our Heart-Tea Party!"
