Another fine Saturday dawned for the Tenby Steps2Health group when 32 members assembled at New Hedges village hall to enjoy a walk back to Tenby (writes B.S.).
Not just one route was on offer as, with six walks leaders to hand, it was possible to take one's choice as the various paths fanned out to suit all capabilities.
The brisk walk, led by Paul Morris and Brian Ward, set off at a good pace downhill to Waterwynch.
But then it was the steep uphill climb as the coast path took them over the North Cliff, past Allen's View and then downhill again, with a pause to admire the very colourful flower beds in the council garden on The Croft. The begonias seemed untouched by the wind and rain of the week.
The rest of the group, with walk leaders Barbara Morris, Margaret Lewis, Val Coates-Rees and Erica Ward, led the steady walk up the cycle path to Turnpike Cottage. While Margaret and Val continued straight down the cycle path, Barbara and Erica led a breakaway group through the fields to enjoy the rural views, with a glimpse of the Preseli Hills in the far distance.
But all paths converged on St. Johns Church, from where the tempting aroma of freshly cooking Welsh cakes resulted in a quickening of the walkers' pace!
A sociable time was enjoyed at this coffee morning for Christian Aid and two new members, Pat and Sarah, were welcomed.
Tomorrow (Saturday) meet at the rear of Upper Park Road bus shelter for a local walk. This will be followed by coffee at Tenby Scout and Guide Hall in Warren Street, for a Walkers Update.
It is hoped as many as possible will attend this important meeting, even if they are unable to go on the walk.
