The benefits of outdoor activity and healthy eating for those experiencing mental distress were highlighted last week. Staff and clients of Pembrokeshire MIND took to the beach to mark MIND Week - May 12 to 19. The charity hosted several events, including a walk, a picnic, kite flying, a beach-clean, beach-combing and a beach art session, as part of its Health and Well-Being Matters Project. Run by Pembrokeshire MIND with the support of Health Challenge Pembrokeshire, the project aims to improve the physical nutritional and emotional health of those taking part. Clr. Sian James, cabinet member for health and well-being, said Health Challenge Pembrokeshire was delighted to be able to support the scheme. "The project, which is targeted at the clients of mental health services and staff, aims to show the positive impact that physical activity and a balanced diet can have on emotional well-being," she said. Pembrokeshire MIND is part of the leading mental health charity MIND, which works to create a better life for those with experience of mental distress.
