A Young Farmers Club from Carmarthenshire has raised £1,250 for the Wish Fund.

The Wish Fund is a campaign delivered by Hywel Dda Health Charities which creates lasting memories for children and young people with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions and their families.

Cynwyl Elfed YFC organised a variety of fundraising events over the past two years to raise the funds.

Lisa Cockroft, Member of Cynwyl Elfed YFC and Children’s Continuing Care Lead Nurse Assessor for Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “Cynwyl Elfed Young Farmers Club is a small but mighty club that prides itself on being bilingual and inclusive.

“The YFC provides opportunities to its members to develop skills, work with their local communities, take part in various competitions and enjoy a dynamic social life.

“The club has done a variety of fundraising events. For example, singing Christmas carols around the local villages, a bingo night, Harvest Thanksgiving, raffles, and a cawl and quiz night.”

Katie Hancock, Fundraising Officer, said: “It’s fantastic to see the local community support such a great cause like the Wish Fund. Thank you so much to Cynwyl Elfed Young Farmers Club for supporting the Wish Fund.

“The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
