SIX members of Hywel Dda Health Board’s nursing team, including one from Withybush and two from Glangwili Hospitals have been recognised at the prestigious Royal College of Nursing Wales Nurse of the Year Awards.
Held in Cardiff on Thursday, November 20, the 2025 awards celebrated innovation and excellence in practice, acknowledging the outstanding efforts, commitment and achievements of the nursing community across Wales.
This year, Hywel Dda nurses achieved three category wins and two runner-up positions, representing all three counties and a wide range of disciplines. Many congratulations go to:
- Donna Blinston, Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Hepatology at Bronglais Hospital – winner of the Chief Nursing Officer for Wales Award
- Emma Phillips, Quality Improvement Practitioner at Withybush Hospital - winner of the the Registered Nurse – Adult Award
- Lynda Jones and Shona Lewis, Health Care Support Workers at Glangwili Hospital – joint winners of the Health Care Support Worker Award
- Angharad Hanbury, Lead Nurse for Radiology at Prince Philip Hospital - runner up of the Registered Nurse – Adult Award
- Richard Morgan, Community Nurse in the Carmarthen Community Learning Disabilities Team - the runner up of the Registered Nurse – Learning Disabilities Award
