Women in Pembrokeshire who would like to request a termination of pregnancy can now self-refer to the pregnancy advisory service currently delivered at Withybush General Hospital by ’phoning a central booking number.
Hywel Dda University Health Board’s sexual health service is working with the gynaecology service in Withybush to develop the service provided for women seeking a termination of pregnancy.
The booking number - 01267 248674 - is for the sexual health service appointments and information line, which can be used by both patients and healthcare professionals, and is open from 9.15 am until 4.30 pm.
GPs can either give the booking number to their patients or arrange an appointment via the booking line on their behalf.
Lisa Humphrey, service delivery manager for gynaecology and sexual health, said: “Improving timely access to the gynaecology service is an important first step to develop the service provided for any woman in the county who would like to request a termination of pregnancy. By providing one central contact number, we can ensure that patients are put through to the correct service without any delay.”
If you’re a patient in Ceredigion or Carmarthenshire you can continue to attend your GP surgery or access the sexual health service if you wish to request a termination of pregnancy.
