A meeting to give an update on plans for on the new nurse-led walk-in service at Tenby Hospital took place this week, with the vice-chair of the Hywel Dda University Health Board attending.

Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas, who is also secretary of the South East Pembrokeshire Community Health Network (SEPCHN), told her colleagues that the meeting, which had been held earlier that day, had given an indication that things seemed to be progressing well with the plans for the walk-in service.

“It is proposed that the walk-in scheme will be open by mid-July, with interviews for nurses due to take place next month.

“There will be a review of the scheme after a year, and if it is a success, then it has been suggested that it could be rolled out to the whole of the Hywel Dda area

“The next meeting of the Implementation Group is due to be held on April 24,” she added.
