Marie Morgan from Houghton recently presented a cheque for £1,882.75 towards the colposcopy department at Withybush Hospital.

Marie arranged an autumn charity dinner and dance at Wolfscastle Country Hotel as she wanted to give something back to the department after the amazing care and kindness she received.

“This is my fourth charity dinner dance and I just wanted to give something back to the colposcopy department at Withybush Hospital after the amazing care and kindness I received,” said Marie. “Also to thank everyone for their constant support by donating raffle prizes and purchasing tickets.

“I could not do it without support from Claire Nutty from Heywood Spa Hotel, Tenby, who donates my first raffle prize, Sue Reynolds from Flowers and Favours, who always makes my tables look amazing, Claire Cup Cakes too! They are the ingredients of an amazing night which makes the event a sell-out within hours. This enables me to raise the money to give back and reinvest into Pembrokeshire and the people who also need the care and kindness.”

Sarah Rees, senior nurse manager gynaecology, said: “All the colposcopy team are delighted with the £1,882.75 donation for the department raised by Marie. We would like to express our gratitude for all her hard work in her fundraising activities and raising public awareness of the importance of cervical screening. We are planning to purchase a television for the patient waiting area and an ice machine to improve the experience of patients attending the department.

“Marie’s words of appreciation for the quality of care she received throughout her treatment were gratefully received by the staff”
