A cross training alternative - Yoga means union, a oneness with life. It originated in ancient India as a system for attaining physical, mental and spiritual well-being.

The Indian form of yoga, with its asanas (postures) and pranamayas (breathing exercises) are meant to define a system capable of responding to all human needs.

There are more than 100 Yoga asanas, which range in difficulty from simple to the more difficult.

These positions stretch and relax muscle groups, often while contracting opposing muscle groups. If these asanas are practiced regularly, students have been shown to realise improvements primarily in flexibility, but also muscular strength and endurance.
