The golf day was held at Carmarthen Golf Club and Driving Range on April 25.
Andrew, Interim Service Delivery Manager of the Integrated Psychological Therapies Service at Hywel Dda, said: “The Psychological Therapies service provides psychological therapies for adults across the three counties of Hywel Dda University Health Board. They support adults experiencing mild to complex mental health problems through a variety of interventions.
“The NHS Veterans Service is a specialised, priority service for individuals who have served in the armed forces, at any time in their lives and who are experiencing mental health difficulties related specifically to their military service. This also includes merchant navy personnel involved in military operations.
“Military-related does not just include the effects of combat; it may also include incidents on exercise, peace keeping or training. It can also be issues related to mistreatment such as bullying or arising from leaving the forces and adjusting to ‘civvy street’.
“The funds we have raised will be used to purchase resources and equipment utilised in the delivery of therapy and to assist us in continuing to raise awareness of the Veterans NHS Wales service across Hywel Dda.
“Carmarthen Golf Club were great in supporting all of the golf element and my family were instrumental in making sure the day functioned. We had 12 teams enter. Staff helped to source raffle prizes which made a great impact on raising more money.
“I would like to thank Carmarthen Golf Club and Driving Range for hosting, andNia Homfray, Bethan Homfray and her friends for supporting with all the admin on the day. Thanks also to Sarah Shute for supporting massively with the raffle and everyone who played and bought a raffle ticket, and a big thank you to all the teams that came to support, without them we would not have had the day.”
Claire Rumble, Fundraising Officer, said: “We’d like to say a massive thank you Andrew for organising his third successful golf day in aid of our charity.
“The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
