People have a chance to have their say during the next stage in the consultation process for the draft Local Development Plan for the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

In March, the National Park Authority published its draft plan for consultation, inviting comments from anyone interested in helping to shape the area's future.

Many representations were received, including suggestions for new sites - known as 'Alternative Sites' - that were not included in the draft plan. Proposals put forward included sites for housing development, mixed use development or designations for open spaces or green wedges.

The authority has published a list of the Alternative Sites Proposals and people now have until the end of July to submit their comments.

Planning officer Julie Kirk said: "The National Park Authority assesses planning applications against the policies of the development plan, so the new plan - when it's adopted in 2011 - will guide the planning decisions the authority makes in the future.

"The Alternative Sites are those where people may have requested a deletion or an amendment to what is outlined in the plan; or put forward a new site for consideration; for instance a change to a centre boundary or a new site for consideration for housing."

The Alternative Sites Proposals are available to view at the authority's head office at Llanion Park, Pembroke Dock, and summary reports are available at libraries throughout the county and at St. Clears and Cardigan. The National Park Information Centres in Tenby, Newport and Oriel y Parc at St. Davids also hold the information along with maps of the Alternative Sites.

Comment forms are available on the authority's website at http://www.pembrokeshirecoast.org.uk">www.pembrokeshirecoast.org.uk along with guidance notes on how to fill in the form. The deadline for comments is Wednesday, July 29.
