Sir,
This is an appeal to your readers in the hope that I may find my lovely dog, Poppy, who went missing from The Ridgeway, near Penally, some time after 9.30 pm on Tuesday, September 4.
Poppy is a nine-year-old cross breed - about Collie size with Alsatian type markings (black on her back, merging to tan and pale gold underneath) and has a scar running down her front leg from across the 'knee' which can make her leg look a bit wonky. She's also microchipped and wore a red collar (with thin stripes) which had an ID tag on it. She also sported a neckerchief.
With the kind help of many local dog owners, we have made a thorough search of the area and surrounding fields, and followed all the usual courses of action to locate her, but this hasn't thrown up any clues. A creature of habit, she is not a wanderer and is very traffic shy - however, it's possible she could have been following a scent and found herself on a road nearby where someone could have picked her up assuming she was lost.
If anyone has seen her or can give a clue as to her whereabouts, please contact 0771 463 9305.
Many dogs go missing in the county and thankfully most are reunited with their owners. Despite it being over two weeks since she went missing, I'm hoping this will be another happy ending...
