Geoffrey Martin BSc Charlotte Key BA (Hons)
On Saturday, September 8, Geoffrey Charles Edward Martin BSc, of Oakridge Acres, Tenby, youngest son of Mr. Geoffrey Martin BSc and Mrs. Vivian Martin, married Charlotte Louisa Key BA (Hons), formerly of Aberdare and more recently of Lawnswood, Saundersfoot, the youngest daughter of Mr. Anthony Key OBE and Mrs. Jennifer Key.
The service took place at St Mary's Church, Tenby, while the weather on the day, after a week of rain and cloud, as if by divine intervention, brightened and the sun shone on the bride and groom to make what was already a wonderful day into a perfect one.
The bride, who was wearing a stunning Maggie Sottero gown in the colour of alabaster, with a large embellished detail at the waist, was greeted at the church by a large crowd of well-wishers who applauded her arrival and welcomed her into a packed church of family and friends who had travelled from all over the world to witness this day.
Everyone was welcomed into the church by ushers Lourens Brits, Peter O'Hagan, Gareth Merriman and Sam Smith, who are all friends of the groom, and Christian Key, brother of the bride.
The church was bedecked by flowers provided by The Flower Girls of Saundersfoot, who had also created the bridal bouquet and flowers for the whole of the wedding party and marquee.
The service was conducted by the Rector, Rev. Canon Andrew Davies, and Father Owen McGreal, Priest of St. Teilo's Roman Catholic Church.
A reading was given by chief bridesmaid Hannah Key, sister of the bride, while during the signing of the register, a love song was performed by Emma Lindars and Laura Selwood, friends of the bride and professional performers from the London musical theatre stages.
The entourage left the church to be welcomed by a guard of honour provided by colleagues and fellow crew members of the bridegroom on Tenby Lifeboat.
The flower girls were all nieces of the bride and groom, Amy Key, Arianna Chapman and Phoebe Rossiter, who looked adorable carrying their little posies and wearing their ivory dresses.
The page boys were Iwan, Ifan and Iori Thomas, David and Alex Dombaband and Bradley Rossiter, nephews of the groom; also Daniel Key, Lohan and Torin Chapman, nephews of the bride.
The best man for the day was father of the groom, Mr. Geoffrey Martin Snr.
The happy couple left the church in the town's pony and trap to attend the reception which was held in a marquee on the quayside at Tenby harbour, a very fitting location given the family connection with the sea and lifeboat.
The marquee was provided by Blueskies Marquees, while the wedding breakfast was prepared by Matthew Ronowitz, of 'The Qube'. The magnificent cake came from award-winning chef and local confectioner Karl from Karlos and Co.
As guests arrived at the reception after walking through the town in all their splendour, they were welcomed by the local town busker, who played sea shanty tunes on his accordion.
The whole event, which was supervised by local wedding organiser Cath Graham, culminated in a magnificent fireworks display, while guests were able to dance the night away to the sounds of DJ Jez Holden, who kept everyone up on their feet 'til the early hours.
A typical Tenby supper of fish and chips was also provided for the guests to round off the night.
