With impeccable timing, the rain started at 2 pm just as the Ramblers arrived back at their cars at St. Brides Haven on Saturday.
A large party had enjoyed a very pleasant walk to Marloes along the Coast Path, returning through fields and pausing for a picnic lunch at a sheltered area near Musselwick Bay.
The main challenge of the day had been to traverse the thick mud in fields behind Kensington Palace.
