THIS Sunday, July 14, Muriel Cains, nee Davies, will celebrate her 100th birthday with her family and friends at her home, Croxley House, Croxley Green, Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire.

Mrs. Caines, the only survivor of 12 children, was born in Tenby in 1902, a daughter of Mr. George Davies, a painter and decorator. She has always been very proud of the fact that she isn't a Victorian, but an Edwardian!

Muriel, or Mu, as she is popularly called, is best remembered for her many appearances in The Tenby Players, taking part in their many lavish productions of the musicals and plays of the time, and she has suitcases of photographs to prove it!

In 1932 she left Tenby to marry Percy Cains, who was in the Royal Air Force, and raised a family of four children. Over the next 44 years the family lived in various parts of the England and also spent four happy years in Egypt and South Africa, returning finally to live in Tenby in 1964.

When her husband died in 1976 she lived with her daughters until she moved into the residential home in Rickmansworth.

Many of her 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren will be at the party to toast her health and to help open the telegram!
