From bats to bugs, blackberries to bog plants, Pwllcrochan Nature Reserve, near Pembroke, can reveal all kinds of fascinating finds this half-term. The reserve will host free Wild in the Countryside events on Tuesday, October 30 and Wednesday, October 31 as part of this year's Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority's activities and events programme.

So don your outdoor gear and drop in at 10 am or 1 pm for some free fun, fact-finding and family- friendly games and science. You can also bring a packed lunch and stay all day.

Organised by the National Park Authority and supported by Chevron Pembroke Refinery and the National Trust, the days are best-suited to seven to 13-year-old children with adult supervision. Meet by St. Mary's Church, Pwllcrochan (off the Pembroke to Angle road). The activity leaders are Gill Wilkinson, Kiri Howells and David Matthews. Sunday, October 28, 10 am to 5 pm. Historic ramble on Castlemartin Ranges. Explore some of Pembrokeshire's best kept archaeological secrets which survive on the Range. Warm clothing, sturdy footwear.
