The Tenby side arrived at the ground looking very smart in their new attire, sponsored by Jim Thomas (The Picnic Basket, Tenby) and Neil Finlay Cars (Pentlepoir).
This was definitely a game of two halves, with Tenby attacking in the first half. Playing down the slight slope, Tenby looked menacing with their wide play, with Guto Griffiths outstanding on the left when put through by Gavin Kinsey, to stretch the Hakin defence to allow Mikey Boswell to cut in from the right in a dangerous manner.
Hakin countered quickly after each attack and Richard Thomas in the Tenby goal did well to snatch the ball away from a forward after a header had hit his crossbar.
In the 20th minute, Mikey Boswell coolly slotted in a rebound when several shots had been charged down in the Hakin goalmouth to give Tenby a 1-0 lead.
Soon after this, Sam Christopher shot straight at the goalkeeper when well placed to add to the lead.
Tenby's other opportunity to go in at half-time with a healthy lead went when a cruel bounce denied Mikey Boswell another goal chance, with the half ending with Tenby having their noses in front at 1-0.
Adam Johns dominated the midfield and Aaron Goldsmith had done a remarkable job man-to-man marking Craig Robertson. The Tenby defence of Scott Helmich, Jordan Lloyd, Joe Scourfield and Brett Evans were looking unbeatable. However, the misses early on proved costly.
Hakin came out for the second-half and launched one attack after another to go 4-1 ahead after six minutes.
This blistering play left Tenby breathless and only the heroics of Richard Thomas in goal, and a superb display by man-of-the-match Joe Scourfield, kept the score respectable.
Just to show that their first-half play had been no fluke, Guto Griffiths ran through the Hakin defence to lob the goalkeeper for a fine individual goal.
Hakin quickly shrugged off this closing of the gap in the scores to run wild through the Tenby midfield as though they did not exist to score two more and make Tenby's first-half inspiring play look no more than a memory.
Henry Boot, Richard Jones and Michael Halligan all came on late in the second half, but then the damage by Hakin had already been done.
Commiseration must go to Luke Dedman who had to pull out of the squad on Friday night with a knee injury.
The squad would like to thank their mascot - Jerome Mansbridge - and all their supporters at the cup final.
Tenby squad: Richard Thomas, Brett Evans, Jordan Lloyd, Joe Scourfield, Scott Helmich, Aaron Goldsmith (capt.), Adam Johns, Gavin Kinsey, Mikey Boswell, Sam Christopher, Guto Griffiths, Richard Jones, Michael Halligan, Henry Boot.
