Eight teams of gymnasts from Saundersfoot School took part in the County Gymnastics Championships held at Tenby Leisure Centre recently. This was the first experience of competition for many of the pupils, but they exceeded all expectations, returning to school with a total of 10 medals.
James Lloyd was placed 10th in the individual Year 4 boys, with Olivia Morris gaining 10th place and Bethan Roberts sixth place in the Year 6 girls competition. The Year 6 girls team were placed third, winning the bronze medal. Special mention must be made of Jordan Watkins (Year 6), who was placed fourth.
Jordan later went on to take part in the West Wales trials and was successful in getting a place in the team to represent Pembrokeshire at the West Wales Championships in March.
