Brownies and Guides from Narberth, Saundersfoot and Tenby met together to parade to St. Mary's Church in Tenby and were then joined by the Rainbows on a glorious sunny December afternoon for their first ever carol service.

They were welcomed to St. Mary's by the Rector, Rev. Andrew Davies, who led the service.

During the service, the Rainbows told about the colours of Christmas, the Guides from Narberth gave a Christmas reading, Guides from St. Issell's and Tenby joined together in a Christmas carol and the Brownies asked us all to 'Light a little candle in our hearts', which was an apt song as the Rector invited many of the girls to light Christmas candles during his address.

The newly-formed District Senior Section had everyone clapping as they sang 'Jingle Bell Rock' and they were very grateful to their friend, Sam Turton, for giving his time for rehearsal and also as accompanist on the day.

A presentation was made during the afternoon to Kay Richardson, who is Snowy Owl with 3rd Tenby Brownies, to say thank you from Girlguiding for 20 years service. A collection was taken and will be presented to Sandy Bears Bereavement and Loss Service in the New Year. Grateful thanks also go to Chevron Ltd. for the printing of the order of service.

The District returned to the Scout and Guide Hall after the service for refreshments and a chance to catch up with each other.

It was a busy weekend for local Guiding, as Lydia Rooke and Scarlett Davies from 4th Tenby Guides had been selected to represent Pembrokeshire at the Girlguiding Cymru carol service the previous day and sang in the choir with Guides and leaders from all over Wales.

Lower Landsker District is lucky to have such dedicated leaders and their enthusiasm for Girlguiding is ever evident as it rubs off on other people who come forward to join.

Why not come and meet some of them as the Senior Section hold a Christmas Fair in the Scout and Guide Hall in Warren Street, tomorrow (Saturday) from 11 am to 1 pm. They look forward to welcoming you.
