Girlguiding Pembrokeshire held its annual general meeting at the Picton Centre in Haverfordwest last week which was attended by over 100 Guiders and friends.
The Chief Commissioner for Wales, Cathryn Brooker, gave out many awards and presentations. Amongst those receiving awards were Sian Attwell and Chriss Morse from 1st St. Issell's Guides and Sarah Prestwich from 2nd St. Issell's Brownies, who had completed their leadership qualification and become Warranted Guiders. Chriss Morse also gained her Guide Camp Licence.
Representatives from 1st St. Issell's Guides were there to receive the County Guide Safety Trophy which they had won in September, beating off challenges from other Guide units in the county.
Also from the Lower Landsker District were Claire Chappell from 1st Narberth Guides, who had completed her Leadership Qualification, and 4th Tenby Guides received the County Guide Trophy after winning a day of challenges against other Guides in the county. Andrea Thomas from 2nd St. Issell's Brownies received her Division Commissioner's badge.
The newly-formed Lower Landsker Senior Section received their registration certificate. This is a new group formed in September for girls aged from 14 years and they meet in the Scout and Guide Hall in Tenby on Mondays after school.
They are currently organising a Christmas Fair which will be held in the Guide Hall on Saturday, December 13, from 11 am to 1 pm, to raise much-needed funds to enable them to go forward with their Guiding Experience.
