The first walk in the 2001 Guided Walks from Railway Stations programme takes place on Saturday, June 2.

Led by Mike Thorne, the seven-mile walk is from Kilgetty Station (11.32 start) to Tenby Station. The route leads down to the coast and along a good stretch of Coast Path from Saundersfoot to Tenby. There are some reasonable climbs but the reward is breathtaking views of the beaches of both historic towns, together with panoramic views over Carmarthen Bay.

Sarah Worby, SPARC's tourism officer, said: "This walk highlights current opportunities which are available both to walk in Pembrokeshire and to access the countryside by public transport. So if people are itching to get back into their boos or would like to try out a stretch of the Coast Path for themselves I would urge them to join us."

Further details are available from the tourism office, SPARC, on (01834) 860965. The Greenways project aims to promote access for all to the area's unique and beautiful countryside by environmentally sustainable means, it is funded by the European Union Objective 5b Rural Wales (ERDF) Programme, the Countryside Council for Wales and Pembrokeshire County Council.

The annual Guided Walks from Railway Stations programme is organised with assistance from Wales and West Passenger Trains and the Ramblers Association.
